1. Prepare the Wall
- Move any furniture and cover the floor to protect it.
- Remove old wallpaper and fill any holes or cracks. Sand the surface until smooth.
- Wash the wall with mild soap and water, then let it dry completely.
- If the wall is glossy or very absorbent, apply a primer or wall sealer for best results.
2. Measure and Mark
- Choose your starting point near a door or corner.
- Use a level or plumb line to draw a straight vertical guide line on the wall. This ensures the first strip is perfectly straight.
3. Cut and Arrange Wallpaper
- Lay out your wallpaper strips in the correct order.
- Make sure the pattern flows across the panels.
- Cut each strip to the height of the wall, leaving a few extra centimeters at the top and bottom for trimming.
4. Apply Adhesive (For Non-Woven Wallpaper)
- Use paste suitable for non-woven wallpaper.
- Apply the paste directly to the wall using a roller or brush.
- Work in sections, covering about one or two strip widths at a time.
5. Hang the First Strip
- Place the first strip along your guide line, starting at the top with a slight overhang.
- Smooth the wallpaper from the center outward using a smoothing brush or plastic smoother to remove air bubbles.
6. Add the Remaining Strips
- Align the next strip edge to edge, without overlapping.
- Match the pattern carefully and press the seams firmly.
- Wipe away any excess paste with a clean, damp sponge.
7. Trim Excess
- Once the strip is secure, trim the excess wallpaper at the top and bottom using a sharp knife and a straight edge.
- Repeat with each panel.
8. Final Touches
- Smooth over the entire wall once more to ensure good adhesion.
- Let the wallpaper dry at room temperature with good airflow.
9. Around Outlets and Switches
- Turn off the electricity at the main switch.
- Loosen outlet or switch covers.
- Carefully cut the wallpaper around the opening and smooth the edges under the cover.
- Reattach the cover once the wallpaper is in place.
